Please read one link per day, otherwise, since the subjects are varied , there will be confusion and information overflow.
Thank You
" Prajnanam Brahman- The secret of the Universe is the greatest knowledge. Tat tvam asi- That tells you who you are. Ayam atma brahma- It is embedded in our soul. Aham Brahmasmi- I am one with the Universe. Sarvam Khalvidam Brahmam- So is everyone . #God Particle "
The status was a marriage between Higgs Boson and Advaita Philosophy , Between God, Atma and Gods Particle.

PLEASE DO NOT MISS THE LINKS AT THE END, because the links contain immense knowledge on Real proven authentic science and mathematics, plus, meta physics, philosophy , medicine, economics, astronomy.  Dhruv Reas links on Vedic Mathematics, the last three, they will immensly help you in life.

It all started with the above quoted Facebook status , by one of my proteges, Kaunteya Ghosh (kg)who is yet to be 19(will be on 24Th August) , a fine young follower of the Advaita philosophy, and a very  ardent follower of Adi Sankara

The Thread became very interesting due to intelligent comments by much older Patrick Quinlan (pq) maybe 50 something, Irish, looks like a scientist, Ina Zeuch (iz) 30 something a freelancer, looks artistic maybe related to art/fsahion/make-up , Me (kvgm) 52 , Indian Banker and; Dr Anjani Kumar Tripathi (dakt)  and many other regulars, Pradeep Saxena, Rahul Bagchi and Ayaz Ahmed.

This is the thread in question But as Facebook is well known to not arcgive user threads, I am putting all the comments and links here . for posterity. First the comments on the Thread, then the links at the end.

It all began by the thought that there was no connection between religion and science.

Then we were given a name and realized that we were separate from our Mother. Ever since we have been trying to find our way home. A very circuitous journey. Adi Sankara may have said these words - I AM THAT, but he was not the first to say them nor the first to know the truth in those words. Thanks Kaunteya Ghosh, may you find your way home. "

kg " Schopenhauer said he was influenced by the Upanishads, Immanuel Kant and Plato. References to Eastern philosophy and religion appear frequently in Schopenhauer's writing. As noted above, he appreciated the teachings of the Buddha and even called himself a "Buddhist".[73] He said[74] that his philosophy could not have been conceived before these teachings were available.
Concerning the Upanishads and Vedas, he writes in The World as Will and Representation:
If the reader has also received the benefit of the Vedas, the access to which by means of the Upanishads is in my eyes the greatest privilege which this still young century (1818) may claim before all previous centuries, if then the reader, I say, has received his initiation in primeval Indian wisdom, and received it with an open heart, he will be prepared in the very best way for hearing what I have to tell him. It will not sound to him strange, as to many others, much less disagreeable; for I might, if it did not sound conceited, contend that every one of the detached statements which constitute the Upanishads, may be deduced as a necessary result from the fundamental thoughts which I have to enunciate, though those deductions themselves are by no means to be found there.[75]
He summarised the influence of the Upanishads thus: "It has been the solace of my life, it will be the solace of my death!"- wikipedia "

I always find that when religious texts are using the word 'universe' it is sth.completely different when physics are using this term. If u try to amalgam both notions - the rilgious and the scientific - it does not make any sense, it is mere misunderstanding. Religious people mostly don't care that much because they don't search for the truth - they maintain that they already have the truth and refer to what is written here and there. My first comment referred to ur quote (caste system), my second comment referred to Pradeep Saxena, confirming that 'Godparticle' has nothing to do with godliness, happy to found someone who knows abt those confusing wrong use of words too. My view is, Deep meditation, and concentrated " Gaveshan " the ancient Sanskrit word for research , will make the mind meet God, that is the supreme intermingling of Mastishka ( mind) Sharir ( Body) and Atma (soul) with Eeshwar (God) , but when you yourself are Brahma ( The supreme power, you meet your other elements , which is salvation, in this meeting of soul with soul, creates knowledge, it is called " Param Brahm ki prapti " or

It generated an educated discussion, which at the end, germinated the idea of this blog, especially, I have a vested personal interest in this, My 15 year old son Dhruv Menon, who is in Class Xth, and has CBSE Board in a year, March 2013 to be precise. Interesting no ? So it is not a fluke , that Indians are now the brainiest lot, in the world  , It took us 63 years of Freedom . after 600 BC  Bharata or the undivided India disintegrated, hence we became servile and our scientific research vanished. Secondly, why I say that there should be reservayion, as with Affirmative action in USA, is that scars of mental slavery take years to vanish, it is a psychological issue, it takes centuries of corrective measures. Look how Colored Americans have progressed from Jesse Owens to Carl Lewis and Tiger Woods .

The information and links are there on the web, and exists for a long long time, I was made aware of much of this, by My Late Dad ( I call him Achchan ) Late K Balakrishna Menon, ( 12-11-1939 to 17-4-2008 ) may his soul Rest in peace . Love you Achchaa .

I took the Indian Civil Services exams many times, and I chose History as my second subject, During 1981-1984 I read over 350 books on Indian History, making me aware, of The Wonder That India was, due to a lucidly written book with the Same title by Prof A.L.Basham and the NCERT Series Ancient India, Medieval India I and II and Modern India. I read many books by Bipin Chandra, Romilla Thapar, Majumdar, Raychaudhuri and Datta, Max Mueller,  Jawahar Lal Nehru ( Discovery of IndiaGlimpses of World History,  Letters from a father to his daughter reviewreview2   V.S.Naipaul (Area Of Darkness),  Nirad C Chaudhuri ( Brown Sahib Bong :) Veer Savarkar( for anti congress viewpoint) Autobiography of an Unknown Indian & The Continent of Circe. V D Mahajan (History of Medieval India & Modern Indian History ), Dominique Lapiere and Larry Collins (Freedom at Midnight) ,  Khushwant Singh, (Train to Pakistan) and later by Shashi Tharoor, Ramchandra Guha amd William Dalrymple. & J P Mittal.
One Book which I have not read , and I will read now is An Argumentative Indian by Amartya Sen.

Here I would like to enlighten Nehru, Collins and  Lapierre, Bipan Chandra, Basham, Naipaul(for contrarian and opposing views and to maintain balance of not being jingoist)  and Shashi Tharoor are must reads, for writing history in lucid story  telling style. their works are not only light reads, but also very gripping, which won't let you put down the books, till you finish them.

Ramchandra  Guha must be read with total devotion and concentration, because it iis well researched and deeply informative and authentic picture of Indian History( The best I found so far)

Finally You must Read V D Mahajan and J P Mittal ( CAUTION THIS IS MORE FICTIONAL THAN FACTS BUT DO READ IT) with a pinch of Salt, they fictionalize history and unless read without crystallizing, read one must, because, if you are a STUDENT (ACADEMIC) of history, you don't sleep reading them. Be careful on dates, especially birth, death of Buddha & Mahavira. Not to be referred for dates AT ANY COST!!! Now Mr Mittal writes History of India 7300 to 4250 BC . There are no historical evidences to study, architecture,/archaeological excavations, scriptures, inscriptions , coins or books of that period.

Where as Dr Mahajan writes " Shivaji took a step embraced Afzal Khan with his left hand, and stabbed him with his crooked dagger, with his right, killing him instantly " :-) reads like a Salim-Javed or Major Balwant script :)

pq " Advaita Vedanta is not religious at all. It is a universal truth which can be and often is experienced by anyone of any religion or no religion. A concept of God is not God, it is merely a concept. What the great and wise men and women who knew this truth, and took upon themselves the incredibly difficult task of communicating it to us, were attempting to share was what is often now called Non-Duality. Non- Duality is not a concept which can be adequately grasped by any intellect no matter how vast. It is not a concept at all. It is a direct knowing, what the late classical Greeks called "Gnosis". It can only be known by the heart within the heart, the secret heart, unknown to science, unknown to romantics, known only by the greatest mystics and by those rare philosophers who understand and fully appreciate the true origins of philosophy, of philo-sophia, the love of the Goddess of Wisdom. Intellectuals can bang their head against the rock of this truth until the holy cows of religion come home and bow before their Mother who gave them life. Neither religion, in it's popular organized sense, nor science - the new belief system of the Western world, can embrace this truth. neither has a heart big enough. "

Prof A.L.Basham's Book The Wonder That India was and Max Mueller's Vedic translations truly made me delve deep into Charaka ( Ayurveda Medicine), Panini Sanskrit, Grammar) , Baskaracharya & Aryabhatta ( Mathematicians, Astro Physicists) which enlightened me, that India was the root of all sciences, and the East India Company in late 16th Century took a lot of knowledge to Britain, and used it during British Renaissance .
